WHERE I'LL PROVE I'M ALL YOU WANT AND MORE. you just need to let it unfold. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Why couldn't Lewis just hate her? It would make decisions so much easier for her. She also knew that he'd be blaming himself for all of this, but it wasn't his fault. She stared at the grounds, fighting back the tears as she heard him speak. Why couldn't he get mad at her, yell at her, hit her? Anything would be easier to deal with than this. This just broke her heart even more. She knew now that she loved Lewis, but she wasn't, and never would be, in love with him. He meant the world to her, but he wasn't her world. That was the problem, the difference. That was what she had nnever understood before, that they were two completely different things.
She shook her head slowly, as a few stray tears slid down her smooth skin, but she didn't bother wiping them away. They would only be followed by more. This wasn't how she had pictured her afternoon. "No, stop it." She sighed, "It's not your fault. It's mine." And it was, whether or not he wanted to accept that. Smiling very softly, Lex looked over her shoulder at him. "But you'll never lose me as a friend. We're too close for that." She told him gently, before turning away again. She couldn't imagine living without Lewis, but just not with him. They were friends, very close friends, but that was it. It couldn't be more.
He would find someone else, someone better than her. At first, it would probably hurt, but she would get over it, get used to it, and learn to like it. He deserved someone who would love him unconditionally, not when it suited them. And she? She would live her life, falling in and out of love, until maybe finding the right person. It would be good. She turned her attention back to the present. "I'm not going anywhere. Unless you want me to." She added uncertainly. He might want to be alone for a moment, she wasn't sure. She felt the warmth of his hand on her shoulder, but felt differently about it now. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

As Lex said it wasn't his fault it was hers he raised his eyebrows. Well that wasn't true, he kissed her not the other way round. Which made it his fault, if he had resisted and not kissed her, none of this would of happened. But Lewis just sighed and said nothing he didn't want to upset her anymore than he already had. And when Lex said he'd never lose her as a friend, he felt relief power through him, at least he didn't have to worry about that anymore. But it was true, they were close and maybe not close enough to be boyfriend and girlfriend, they were close enough to be very good friends. He felt that right now he had a friend for life. Maybe they could have been boyfriend and girlfriend, but Lewis would be a very different person he wasn't so scared to commit, he wouldn't be the same free, fun loving guy he is now. And if he was different Lex might not of liked him so it was better to of had a fling that could only end up with them being very good friends, than to of never met her at all. Maybe being scared of commitment isn't such a bad things after all, Lewis thought for a moment but then soon erased the thought. Sooner or later, probably later, he would find someone and he would eventually learn to commit him self into a relationship. But until that day he would make do with his small flings, and be the happy, fun guy he is. Lewis sighed at the thought and then turned his attention back to Alexia.
Lewis sighed and wondered what to do, but then Lex spoke. A small smile appeared on his lips threatening to turn into a huge grin, as she said she wasn't going anywhere. "Of course I don't want you to go anywhere, if you go then I'll be forced to go back to my classes because I won't be able to stay out here on my own." It was true, he wouldn't be able to stay out here on his own, although it wasn't as bad for him now Lex had said they would always be friends. He would still end up thinking about it all, about commitment, about his future and other things like that. And Lewis really wasn't the thinking type and it never ended well when he thought about stuff, he always ended up with some horrible conclusion that he didn't like. Lewis slowly sat back down on the front steps hoping Lex would do the same, he sighed and watched the back of Lex's head for a while. "Wanna sit down, we can just talk again, about anything you want," Lewis eventually said to her. He really didn't mind they talked about right now, he was just unbelievably glad that Lex had chosen to stay. WORDS!? 483 STATUS!? done! CREDIT!? credit to carrie @ caution

WHERE I'LL PROVE I'M ALL YOU WANT AND MORE. you just need to let it unfold. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Alexia wondered at what was going through Lewis' head at that moment. It was always somewhat unpredictable. Sometimes he did exactly what she expected, and then sometimes he did the opposite. It was such a mystery to her. She looked over as he asked her to sit down, and nodded, smiling. She sat down next to him, pushing her blonde hair out of her face. The sun was visibly lower than before, but she hadn't noticed it earlier. She nodded absent-mindedly as he told her they could talk about whatever she wanted. Anything? "What are you thinking? And be honest." She replied decidedly, looking over at him.
He said anything, and she wanted to know. She was glad that they were still friends, but she hadn't expected anything else. She would always love Lewis, but just as a friend. But still, there were certain things they couldn't talk about. Relationships, in particular. Lex trusted him, and would have told him anything, but that was an area which might cause a bit too much pain for both of them. She didn't want to get into that. They were close friends and all, but not confidants. Maybe in time, but not now, not yet. As she sat on the cold steps, Alexia wondered about the future. She usually lived firmly in the present, hating to worry about consequences and the "future", but now it seemed appropriate to think about. They weren't little kids anymore. Whether or not they liked it, they were al growing up. It was exciting, but scary and sad at the same time. She wanted to grow up, to live, but she didn't want to lose anything she had now. "What do you think about the future?" She asked him idly, playing with a random curl. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Lewis smiled as Lex sat down next to him and he waited silently, not making a single sound. Then he lent forward, placing his elbows just above his knees and putting his chin on to his cupped hands. He sighed, kind of enjoying the silence. He closed his eyes for a moment and nearly dozed off but then Lex spoke, and he was immediately paying attention to her. He turned and looked at her raising one eyebrow at what she said. Of all the things Lex wanted to know, the one she asked was what was he thinking. Well, not even Lewis knew that. What had he been thinking about? Lex. But there was something more he just couldn't figure out, although it was his mind. He sighed and then looked straight ahead again wondering how to reply. He wanted to say he had been thinking Lex and if she had someone else or not, but he also didn't want to say that. He had been thinking it but had a feeling it was a subject Lex wanted to talk about right now. Lewis sighed and lent back again, then turned his head and looked at Lex. Then carefully replied. "I'm thinking, that, if I wasn't so...me, and had I been such a relationship kind of guy, I would of been different, and then would you of still gone out with the different me and would that of actually turned into a relationship," Lewis stared straight into her eyes, that was the truth, that was what he had been thinking about. It wasn't that he wanted to know so he could change so they could have a relationship, he was just curious. Because even if Lewis wanted to change, even for Lex,he couldn't, Lewis is Lewis, nothing could change that, not even Lex. "That's the absolute truth," Lewis murmured, turning his gaze back to staring straight ahead. He couldn't hold Lex's gaze like he used, things had changed a little between them, well they had for him, there had always been that tension between them but now, although it hadn't all gone, some of it had. So though Lewis wouldn't change, he would still watch Lex, and adore her, and love being around her, he would only do it as a friend who loved her. He shook his head slightly at the thought, it was all still just sinking in.
When Lex spoke again he looked at her and his eyes widened as she spoke, by the time she was finished they were huge. Now, the first question had surprised him a little but this one really shocked him. He didn't think Lex was a future person, she was always in the present. He sighed again, this was another question he didn't know an answer to, well he did kind of. After a bit of frowning and a lot of thinking Lewis came up with a reply. "I think that some day, hopefully, I learn to commit and be willing to do it, and when that happens I hope I can find a girl who is as great as you are," Lewis sighed and nodded to himself, yeah, that was exactly right. He looked at Lex and smiled softly, then thought to ask her the same question. "What about you? What do you think of the future?" He ran a hand through his hair roughly and scratched the back of his neck. He had never lent so much about him self in his whole life than a few hours with Lex. It was amazing what she managed to make him do, he had to admit that. WORDS!? 605 STATUS!? done! CREDIT!? credit to carrie @ caution

"No." She told him decisively. "Because even if you were the commitment type, I'm not. It wouldn't have worked out either way. I suppose it works better this way, because we both suck at relationships. But ye, even if you didn't, I still would." She elaborated. She had thought about that a bit, but the other way around, as in what would have happened if she was better at relationships. But it always came to the same thing. It wouldn't work. Lex just didn't do proper relationships. Lewis and her, they could both do flings really well, but the commitment thing was a bit freaky.
Lewis seemed a bit shocked by her question, but answered it anyway. His answer made Lex frown. She waited a while before answering, to make sure what she wanted to say and what came out of her mouth were similar, and coherent. "Someone better than me Lewis. And you will. Eveyone does eventually, right?" She asked, not really expecting an answer. She couldn't really see herself settling down anyway. But you never know, she told herself, with a small smile. When Lewis asked her the same question, she thought about it for a moment. "What do I think about the future? I think it's way too close. I'm happy and excited to grow up, live life, whatever, but at the same time I don't want to. My life is amazing here, and I don't want that to disappear. But it will." She replied slowly. She smiled over at him, "And what's going to happen to me? Who knows. But I can already tell you now, there's no way I'm going to lead some quiet, boring life.". As if anything Alexia did was boring. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Lewis nodded as Lex confirmed which he already knew. There was no way, no matter what they would ever be able to have a proper long-lasting relationship. It just wasn't meant. They would of both had to not be so scared of a relationship, which is nearly impossible, and even if it had happened like that, chances are they would of never met. Lewis sighed, she was right though. It was better they were both scared of commitment and are now just friends. It was better that way. He smiled at her and nodded defiantly at the truth. "Yeah, it is better, you're right," he said half way between speaking normally and whispering. It was as if his throat had dried up and the words just couldn't make it through. It was a strange feeling, and Lewis didn't quite know why he had it, he guessed the truth was only now just sinking in. He sighed and stretched his back, then lent back against the hard step, it dug into his back but he didn't mind. Lewis stretched out his legs in front of him s well, and clasped his hands to together resting them on his stomach. He stared into nothing, with a funny smile that he'd never had before stuck on his face, he stayed like that for a bit just lost in his own thoughts. Then, he shook his head slightly and looked at Alexia, smiling happily at her.
Lewis just shrugged as she said that he would probably find someone better than her. He doubted it, Lex was the best thing that had ever happened to him and she was brilliant so he did doubt very much that he would ever find someone s brilliant as her. But he didn't say this, he didn't say anything, just shrugged again and looked back into nothing. Lewis frowned slightly at her answer, it was true the future was far to close for his liking. It seemed like only yesterday he was seven years old and acting like the big, tough kid who everyone loved of the school. Things hadn't changed so much, apart from Lewis being tough, he could fight but wasn't that tough. Lewis ginned as Lex said she wouldn't leave a boring life, he knew that, Lex wasn't boring person, far from it, so h guessed her life never would be. Lewis hated boredom, but he had it all the time, in class, out of class when everyone seemed to be avoiding him when actually they were at some party he didn't know about, as per usual. "No, you definitely won't have a boring life, you wouldn't let that happen, I hope my life isn't boring but chances are it will, I seem to attract it," Lewis grinned at her and laughed a little to him self, well it did appear as if it followed him around, just waiting to pounce on him and cause him utter boredom for ages. Lewis sighed and wondered what else to say, he hated being at loss for words but thats exactly what he was right now. he ran a hand through his hair playing with a bit that stuck out just above his neck, then rubbed his eyes and put his hands behind his head resting his head on the step above. he was taking up about seven steps, but he doubted anyone else would be coming down theses steps for a bit. He closed his eyes and waited for Lex to say something, she was usually good at starting up a conversation, and so was he usually, just not right now obviously. WORDS!? 604 STATUS!? done! WHERE I'LL PROVE I'M ALL YOU WANT AND MORE. you just need to let it unfold. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - When Lewis agreed, Lex just smiled. She was glad she had him. He was one of those people who she would be friends with for life, and who she could always trust and run to when she needed help. She shrugged, feeling more peaceful than she had in a long time. "Anyway, relationships suck.". Then she laughed at the sentence she had just uttered. How many people actually thought that? Out of all the ones she knew, just her and Lewis. But in her eyes, they were also the only two sane ones. But Lex's sanity was questionable. So maybe Lewis was the only sane person around here. How comforting.
Alexia was glad that Lewis didn't argue with her. At least he knew when to drop a subject. Unlike some of their friends. But she smiled as he confirmed what she had said about her future. Alexia wanted to be famous. She could already see herself in the future, well, her version of the future anyway. Flashbulbs, cameras, magazine articles, the works. She wanted it all, and being who she was, she would get it. A lot of people thought that Lex was just lazy and got whatever she wanted because she was pretty and rich, but that was far from true. When she really wanted something, she worked her ass off until she got it. "But.. What if we, like all of us, don't stay in touch? I don't want to lose anyone of you..so.. so ye." She muttered, frustrated. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Lewis nodded as Lex said relationships sucked. They did. Everyone says when they first go into a relationship it's brilliant, like being on Ecstasy but then it's not so good. You begin to fight all the time, and only the really close and good couples can make it through those bad times and still be with each other. The only reason his mum and dad were still together was because his dad was always out so he didn't have time to fight, and his mum didn't have the brains to make an argument. Lewis didn't mean it in a nasty way, but it was true, his mum was to, simple lets say, to complain to his dad and cause and argument which could cause a divorce. In a way it was better but in another way, it wasn't. Lewis sighed, relationships really did suck. You both had to be perfect in order to have a lifetime of happiness that never had any rough patches whatsoever, either that or you're a really good liar.
Lewis rubbed his hands together and stuck them between his knees, he wasn't cold but he just felt a need to do that. Lewis looked over and smiled at Lex, wondering what else she would say, he had to be honest, she couldn't say anything more today that could surprise him. He'd had enough surprise for one day and refused to have anymore. Luckily, when Lex's next question was about them growing up and maybe not keeping in contact, Lewis wasn't so surprised. The only reason he wasn't so surprised was because he had been thinking about the same kinda thing lately. Looking at his close friends and wonder, will he still be friends with them in ten years time. He looked at all of them, even Lex, and couldn't come up with an answer. Because pure logic and the fact that not many people did stay in touch after school, was telling him no, but Lewis didn't want that to be true, he wanted to stay friends with his friends now forever so he, him self, was saying yes. Therefore he couldn't come up with a real answer. But he had thought up a way to reply to what Lex said. "Well, I hope we stay friends for ever too, but if we don't then I reckon it means we have found somebody just as good, who is able to filling that missing role," he hoped what he thought was true. It would make things so much easier if it were. To found somebody who is able to fill the gap as another Zach, or Jake, or even Lex. But he knew secretly he would never find someone as good as them, just someone who was able to fill the missing gap if he didn't stay friends with them. WORDS!? 472 STATUS!? done! WHERE I'LL PROVE I'M ALL YOU WANT AND MORE. you just need to let it unfold. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - What Lewis said next was completely true, but it still brought tears to Alexia's eyes. She didn't want to find other people to replace the ones she had now. She knew it was impossiblefor everything to stay this way, change was inevitable, but it wasn't easy. What would she do without these people? Lex seemed to most people to be independent and hated clingy, needy people with a passion. But for all that talk, she depended on these crazy people who surrounded her more than anyone knew. She needed them all, in different ways. Her sister kept her grounded, reminded her when she was being too much of a princess, was her confidante, her best friend. Brooke was her best friend, the one she told secrets to, laughed with in class, did a million crazy things with. She'd miss Lewis, the way he understood, saw right through her pretences, knew what she was thinking. She'd miss the way Zach looked at her, sending fire and adrenaline rushing through her effortlessly. Even Jake, just for being who he was, and so readily accepting her, befriending her, and being there for her. Everyone in this crazy place.
She nodded softly. Then shook her head with a quiet chuckle. "No. No one could be good enough to replace everyone. We're too special to be replaced, right?" She grinned suddenly. Because they would all surely split up, but that didn't mean that they had to disappear from each others lives, right? Lex knew her sister wouldn't be able to, Lewis and her would always keep in touch, as she would with Brooke, Zach, Jake, and all the other people she really cared about. If she wanted them in her life badly enough, that was exactly where they would end up. Alexia had a habit of getting what she wanted, and that wasn't about to change. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
